Quirky Sermon #4

Quirky Sermon #4

[listen here]

I preach these quirky little sermons once in a while at True North Community Church. (I’ve said it before, and will once more: I have zero clerical credentials. But I’m the Arts Director there, so once in a while they trust me to stand up, make a little mischief and ponder the big life questions.)

In this one, I play around with the Mary and Martha story in Luke 10. And because the world is full of fascinating connections, I argue that their first-century sister squabble has everything to do with

  • tattoo artists,
  • the role of women,
  • Spotify playlists,
  • WNYC’s Bored and Brilliant project,
  • how we go about hearing the voice of an invisible & often inaudible God, AND
  • a life hack discovered by a 17th-century French monk.

It’s called Make Space to Listen.
Hope you enjoy.
